GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Day Support Supervisor, the
Program Manager will be responsible for the provision and supervision of the
Mental Retardation Day Support Services including supervision, training and
evaluation. The primary objective of
this position is to provide quality care that will assist consumers in
maintaining stability in the most appropriate environment by assisting with the
development and implementation of Individualized Service Plans (ISP),
Individual Program Plans (IPP), Individualized Vocational Plans (IVP), and
structured and spontaneous one-to-one and small group programming. The Program Manager must possess a clear
understanding of the characteristics and problems of persons with severe and profound
levels of mental retardation. The
incumbent will implement basic motor skills, training techniques, and
alternative communication systems. The
Program Manager has overall responsibility for complying with Medicaid
Regulations and Standards, Human Rights Regulations, HIPAA, OSHA, DMHMRSA and
Federal/State laws relating to the mental retardation population. The MR Program Manager will be responsible
for program operations and physical upkeep at the Day Support Program and will
act in the Supervisor’s absence.
QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS Degree in Mental Retardation, Special Education
or related Human Services field; two (2)
years direct care experience in a MR setting; one (1) year
supervisory/management experience; must be QMRP; possess a valid Drivers
License with acceptable DMV Record.
