WORK SITE:            Suffolk/ Franklin/Isle of Wight

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:  Responsible for providing quality care and assisting with therapeutic behavioral support for children/adolescents with behavior or emotional problems.  Operate a vehicle equipped for the disabled and provide transportation to and from center programs, support agencies, transitional work sites, other program sites, and/or activities.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Assist with daily program activities and implementation of consumer treatment plans.  Complete and maintain documentation on a daily basis.  Operate vehicles safely and stay on schedule for assigned routes, provide transportation services and assist students in vehicle entries and exits.  Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks and safety equipment inspections.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  HS Diploma/GED; one year direct care experience working with children and/or adolescents in school programs/services; prior work experience driving vans and transporting physically/mentally/emotionally challenged students; valid Driver’s License with acceptable DMV record, CDL preferred.
