JOB TITLE:               MENTAL RETARDATION TECHNICIAN

                                    Pathways Day Support Program

 

POSITION:                #0754

 

WORK SITE:            Suffolk, Virginia

 

WORK HOURS:       Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:  Implement individualized service plans, behavior management techniques, basic motor skills training techniques and utilize alternative communication systems for the severe/profound mental retardation population. Instruct individual and small groups in accordance with consumer ISP/IPP’s.  Assist with training and supervision of mentally retarded individuals; assist with the implementation of consumer program plans; implement structured and spontaneous one-to-one and small group programming.  Document/record consumer progress through data collection.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  HS Diploma/GED and one year work experience with physically and/or behaviorally disordered MR population; valid Driver’s License with acceptable DMV record.
