Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP)

Western Tidewater CSB is seeking a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional for our Residential Homes in Suffolk, VA.

Location: Suffolk, VA

General Responsibilities for Qualified Intellectual Disability Counselor I:

• Assist with consumer service plans related to identified needs and goals
• Assist consumers in gaining access to appropriate medical, psychiatric, social, educational, vocational, and other supports and services
• Assisting clients with ADL’s
• Participating on an interdisciplinary team
• Provide consumer training/reinforcement
• Advocate on behalf of consumer, family and providers
• Monitor/assess service delivery
• Behavior management and crisis intervention

Qualifications and Skills for Counselor I:

• Must be a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (Willing to hire and provide training & mentoring to those that meet educational requirement; however, lack the work experience):

– Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services (Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or other related Human Services areas of study)

• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable DMV record at the time of hire
