Screening mammograms on women that are at least 35 years old, are not experiencing any breast health issues, and have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months.
Charges will be submitted to the patient’s current insurance, but financial assistance is available through the Bra-Ha-Ha for those that are uninsured. 3D screening mammograms are covered at 100% by most insurances.
If you know for sure that your employer provided insurance doesn’t cover mammograms for women under the age of 40, please contact Chesapeake Regional Healthcare. Please bring insurance cards and a photo ID.
Most insurance carriers will allow 1 screening mammogram per calendar year, and with most insurance, they do not require it to be an exact 365 days from their last one.
For example, if they had one in October of 2023, we can do one in September of 2024, as long as it is no more than 30 days prior to their one year mark. Medicare requires them to be done in the same month every year. If you are not sure if this applies to your particular insurance, please call ahead of time.
