A’Risha Jones is a Resident in Counseling with Western Tidewater Community Services Board who is committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges while building resilience, self-awareness, and emotional well-being. She provides trauma-informed, person-centered care and works collaboratively with clients to identify strengths, develop healthy coping strategies, and achieve meaningful personal growth.
A’Risha earned both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Her clinical approach incorporates evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship concerns, and stress-related challenges. A’Risha strives to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.
A’Risha believes that healing occurs through connection, self-discovery, and the development of practical tools that support lasting change. She is dedicated to helping clients build on their strengths and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
