Veterans Services
Dedicated support for those who have served
Transitioning to civilian life or managing the unique challenges of military service can take a heavy toll on your mental and emotional well-being. Whether you are dealing with the invisible wounds of service, navigating the stress of reintegration, or seeking support for your family, you do not have to carry that burden by yourself. Our mission is to support Virginia’s Service Members, Veterans, and their Families (SMVF) in the Suffolk, Isle of Wight, Franklin, and Southampton localities.
We are committed to reducing suicide risk, preventing opioid addiction, enhancing stability, and connecting individuals to essential community services.
What veteran services are
Our veteran services provide coordinated care through evidence-based suicide and substance-use screenings, resource navigation, and direct support. We “walk alongside” you and help you through:
- Therapy Services: Outpatient clinicians provide therapy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and support for suicide prevention and opioid recovery.
- Outreach Services: We offer resource kits, transportation vouchers, hygiene items, and field-based support for homeless and unsheltered veterans.
- Peer Support: Veteran Peer Specialists and Coordinators offer peer-led recovery groups, one-on-one support, employment readiness, financial literacy, resume support, and connection to benefits and meal programs.
Who veteran services serve
Our veteran programs can support individuals in the Suffolk, Isle of Wight, Franklin, and Southampton localities who are:
- Service Members, Veterans, and their Families (SMVF)
- Working through mental health challenges or at risk of suicide
- Seeking help for opioid addiction or substance use recovery
- Navigating homelessness, unemployment, or needing reintegration resources
You’re not alone. Recovery support is here.
If you are trying to rebuild stability after military service, you do not have to do it by yourself. DVS programs can be a practical next step toward stronger routines, healthier coping, and more connection. WTCSB is here to help you find the right level of support and move forward one step at a time.
If you or someone you love is experiencing a crisis, please call 988.
