Support when symptoms feel urgent

Sometimes symptoms escalate quickly. Sleep falls apart. Anxiety spikes. Thoughts race. You may feel unsafe, overwhelmed, or unsure what to do next. When emotional disturbances or mental illness rapidly disrupt your life, emergency medication management can be a vital tool for regaining immediate stability.

At WTCSB, urgent medication support is available through our Crisis Receiving Center (CRC) as part of our crisis assessment and stabilization services. The CRC provides 24/7 walk-in support, along with immediate mental health assessments to help determine the safest, most effective next step for your care.

What emergency medication management is

In a crisis setting, medication management is a medical service focused purely on immediate stabilization and safety, rather than long-term, routine care. When you visit the CRC in distress, emergency medication services may include:

  • Urgent Psychiatric Evaluations: Immediate clinical assessments to determine if starting or adjusting psychiatric medication is necessary to manage the current crisis.
  • Crisis Intervention: Safely administering or adjusting medications to help alleviate severe anxiety, psychosis, or agitation in the moment.
  • Acute Monitoring: Short-term, supervised observation to monitor your initial response and any immediate side effects while you stabilize.
  • Discharge & Transition Planning: Because crisis medication management is only a short-term intervention, we focus heavily on connecting you to a long-term outpatient provider for ongoing care.

Who emergency medication management serves

This urgent service is designed to help adults who are experiencing a disruption in their safety or well-being due to a psychiatric emergency.

The CRC can help if you are:

  • Experiencing a severe mental health crisis or rapidly worsening symptoms.
  • Having trouble functioning day-to-day due to acute symptoms that require immediate medical intervention.
  • In need of an urgent review of your current psychiatric medications as part of your stabilization and follow-up planning.

You’re not alone. Recovery support is here.

If you are trying to rebuild stability during a crisis, you do not have to figure out your medications or next steps by yourself. Getting an expert psychiatric evaluation and emergency medication support can be a practical next step toward stronger routines, healthier coping, and immediate stabilization.

WTCSB is here to help you find the right level of support and move forward one step at a time.

(If you or someone you love is experiencing a crisis but cannot walk in, please contact our crisis line 24/7 at (757) 925-2484 or call 988).
